In high school, I kept ALL of my band/record label/etc. stickers in a shoe box and posters on my walls. This is my old ceiling.
14 years ago today, Punchline had their very first band practice! They learned to play “One of My Lies” by Green Day and wrote an original song called “Wake Up.” I’ve known these guys since Super Bowl Sunday back in 2003 and have had the privilege of working with them since 2005. While most bands hang it up after only a few years in the scene, Punchline has achieved what most of them dream of: a music career.

I Got 14 Copies Of This Album At My 11th Birthday Party

Happy Birthday, Billie Joe!
February 17, 2011
Happy birthday to Billie Joe Armstrong from Green Day! You’ve been a great, if not the best, inspiration to me over the last 17 years. I hope we meet again one day when I’m not acting like your biggest superfan.
My First Green Day
November 24, 2010
13 years ago today, I saw Green Day for the very first time during their Nimrod tour. It was also my first concert, ever! I lost my voice, hearing, and bought way too much merchandise.
What was your first concert?

Format For Thought
I’ve officially lived through and used about four musical formats including cassette, compact disc, vinyl, and mp3 or digital album. Does anyone remember MiniDisc?
The first cassette I bought was Boyz II Men II; first CD: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles soundtrack; first vinyl: Green Day Warning; and lastly, my first mp3 album was, well, I have still not purchased a full digital album to this day—what would I hold in my hand? Remember, an iPod is not a format.
What was the first cassette, CD, vinyl, or digital album you ever bought?
